Senior Industrialization Engineer – Madrid – Hybrid

🛰️ Indra Space – Leading the Next Generation of Space Systems 🌌
At Indra Space, we are on a mission to redefine the European space industry by delivering high-performance small satellite solutions for LEO missions. Our ambition? To become a leading company in end-to-end satellite systems, driving innovation in:
🚀 Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT)
🚀 Secure Communications
🚀 Earth Observation & ISR
🚀 Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Traffic Management (STM)
🚀 Science & space exploration
As the Space Business Unit of Indra Group, we combine cutting-edge technology with a full value chain approach—from satellite design and integration to ground segment and operations. With the integration of Deimos and strategic participation in Hispasat and Hisdesat, we are scaling Europe’s space autonomy and contributing to flagship programs like IRIS², Galileo, EGNOS, and Copernicus.

💡 What will you do?

As a Senior Industrialization Engineer, reporting to the Industrialization Director, you will play a key role in transforming how our space systems are developed, assembled, and industrialized. Your mission includes:
  • Lead the definition and deployment of industrialization processes across all space system products, ensuring scalable and repeatable manufacturing and AIT/AIV workflows.
  • Translate mission‑ and system‑level requirements into manufacturable architectures, influencing early design decisions to optimize cost, schedule, and production complexity.
  • Act as the primary focal point between engineering, missions, programs, quality, business development, and subcontractor management.
  • Define and maintain production flows, assembly sequences, and verification procedures for consistency across product lines.
  • Identify industrial bottlenecks and drive design and process improvements based on manufacturability, testability, and throughput.
  • Establish configuration management discipline, process control, and documentation standards aligned with space‑grade production.
  • Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing technologies, tools, and automation solutions.
  • Support make‑or‑buy decisions through industrial capability assessment and cost/schedule trade‑offs.
  • Oversee the transition from prototype to serial production, ensuring infrastructure, processes, and teams are production‑ready.
  • Conduct industrial risk assessments and participate in program reviews to ensure alignment with industrial constraints, budgets, and schedules.

🎯 What are we looking for?

✅ Strong understanding of space system engineering, subsystem interactions, and mission‑level constraints.
✅ Proven experience in AIT/AIV processes, including test flows and environmental qualification (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC, functional testing).
✅ Solid knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, DFMa/DFT, process standardization, and industrial scalability.
✅ Ability to analyze and optimize assembly, integration, and verification workflows, identifying inefficiencies and applying improvements.
✅ Familiarity with configuration management, documentation control, and quality standards for space hardware (ECSS, NASA, ISO).
✅ Experience performing industrial risk assessments, cost–schedule trade‑off analyses, and feasibility evaluations.
✅ Coordination experience with multidisciplinary teams and cross‑departmental interfaces (engineering, missions, quality, program management).
✅ Ability to define and monitor industrial KPIs and production performance indicators.
✅ Skilled in interpreting mechanical/electrical drawings, BoMs, test procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
✅ English level B2 or higher.
💼 Availability to work hybrid in Madrid.
